Citrotec® expands its international presence with ENET D’OILER installation in Egypt

Project carried out in the Cairo region marks the company’s entry into the Egyptian citrus market and reinforces its expansion in the Middle East.

Citrotec® has taken another step in its international expansion with the delivery, installation, and commissioning of an ENET D’OILER in the Cairo region of Egypt. The equipment was developed to recover D-limonene from orange peel.

The technology was designed to handle different operating conditions. Feed is distributed between two columns with capacities of 10,000 kg/h and 20,000 kg/h, allowing the system to operate within a range of 5,000 to 30,000 kg/h.

Completing the project in Egypt also brought additional challenges for the team. In addition to international logistics, assembly was carried out by local professionals under the guidance and supervision of Citrotec®’s technical team. The high temperatures recorded during the installation period were another factor that required planning and operational adaptation.

“This project is a very important achievement for Citrotec®. Egypt has a strong presence in the citrus industry, and entering this market allows us to expand our operations in a strategic region. It was also a very enriching experience from both a technical and cultural standpoint, while demonstrating the customer’s confidence in our technology and in our ability to execute an international project,” says Citrotec® Technical Director Paulo Henrique Sampaio.

Technology for D-limonene recovery

Developed for applications in the citrus industry, the ENET D’OILER uses distillation columns to strip, concentrate, and recover the D-limonene contained in the liquor from processed citrus peel. The system also enables product concentration up to approximately 45 °Brix.

The technology combines features that support efficient operation and easy maintenance, including:

  • Vacuum distillation;
  • Reduced product exposure to heat;
  • Low fouling;
  • High evaporation rate;
  • Simplified operation;
  • Low maintenance and instrumentation costs;
  • Stainless steel construction;
  • Easy transportation and installation;
  • High return on investment;
  • Reduced load on effluent treatment systems.

The project in Egypt also reinforces the versatility of the solutions developed by Citrotec®, which can be adapted to the specific requirements of different processes and markets.

Closer ties with the Egyptian market

In February, Citrotec® participated in the Global Juice Roadshow held in Cairo. Organized by the International Fruit and Vegetable Juice Association (IFU) and Safe Global Fair (SGF), the event brought together professionals and companies from the international juice supply chain.

During the event, Citrotec® presented its technologies and solutions for the citrus industry, expanding its contact with companies and professionals in the local market. Participation helped increase the company’s visibility in the region and create new relationship and business opportunities.
