Citrotec® presents unprecedented evaporation technology at the 24th SBA

ENET®-MVR (Taste-MVR) Evaporator offers high energy efficiency, fuel savings, and proven results for the sugar-energy sector.

Citrotec® was present at the 24th Brazilian Agroindustrial Seminar (SBA), promoted by STAB Magazine, on October 22 and 23, in Ribeirão Preto (SP). Recognized for promoting technical, scientific, and cultural exchange between sugarcane producing regions in Brazil and abroad, the event gathered professionals, companies, and research institutions from the sugar-energy sector.

During the meeting, the company presented the ENET®-MVR (Taste-MVR) Evaporator — a 1-effect, multi-stage turbulent mist technology that incorporates the Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) process.

Equipped with an electric mechanical compressor from the German manufacturer Piller, the system decompresses the vapor generated in the effect, raising its pressure and temperature to feed the shell of the effect itself as a thermal source.

The technology is aimed at sugarcane juice concentration, an essential step in sugar and ethanol production, and provides energy savings of up to 50% compared to conventional evaporators.

“With the ENET®-MVR (Taste-MVR) Evaporator, it is possible to obtain up to 50% more concentrated juice with the same volume of installed steam. This represents a real opportunity for growth with lower investment,” highlights Citrotec® Industrial Director, Paulo Sampaio.

High automation and application in new markets

The ENET®-MVR (Taste-MVR) also stands out for its very low fouling level, a characteristic already established in ENET® models. Thanks to the advanced automation design, the equipment operates 100% automatically and without downtime for cleaning (CIP) — an unprecedented milestone in the sector.

The reduced residence time of the juice improves the quality of the syrup and sugar, resulting in products with excellent color and purity standards.

Another strategic differential is its application in the concentration of C5 and C6 juices for second-generation (2G) ethanol production, from sugarcane bagasse. The system's energy efficiency makes it possible to save bagasse and expand 2G ethanol production.

“The ENET®-MVR (Taste-MVR) allows multiplying the use of bagasse. This is an important feature in flex plants, which produce sugarcane and corn ethanol. With this savings, it is possible to operate a corn ethanol plant all year round, without the need to purchase other fuel,” emphasizes Sampaio.

Commitment to proven innovation

To validate the technology, Citrotec® invested in the development and installation of an unprecedented pilot plant, fully automatic and connected via satellite, capable of collecting and proving performance data.

“Our commitment is to deliver innovation with responsibility. We only bring proven solutions to the market,” concludes Sampaio.
